On this blog you'll find mostly Castle-related ramblings (yes, I'm quite literal) and a smattering of other things. Dipping my toe into the fandoms. Male. 20s. Aspiring writer. Australian. Well-traveled. Very occasionally NSFW and tagged as such. Spoilers errywhere.
Beckett drinking from Montgomery’s flask - 2x13/3x24
if it wasn’t canon that her dad was an alcoholic i’d say that she would’ve drowned herself with alcohol after her mother’s death just by looking at the way she drinks here
She wouldn’t be the first child of an alcoholic to turn to drinking herself. Although I don’t see it in this scene, where she just takes a single drink out of the flask and hands it back. More in Kill Shot, maybe.
Yeah the scene in ‘Kill Shot’ is much more horrific for knowing Jim’s history, and Beckett’s struggle with that when she was younger (“the life she saved” heavily implies she had a huge hand in pulling him out of that spiral). It’s actually probably the single most heartbreaking troubling scene in ‘Kill Shot’ for mine.
Anonymous asked: We cant highlight something about Rick because that its not the point of the story, even in "Hunt" Marlowe himself highlighted "badass Beckett" when she kicked the chair of the other girl in the interrogation room as " showing her love for her man"... My point is, the show is about Beckett, even if people like it or not. :)
Huh? One scene in 42 minutes isn’t much, really. Sure that scene was interesting, because her control slips (though I don’t really find it “badass”).
Has Beckett been better written than Castle over the series? Sure. Is the show “about Beckett”? Nah, that’s a pretty broad leap. To me the show is about their love story. You’ll need better, more convincing evidence than a single meta comment about a standalone scene to make that argument to me, anon.
#to marry that writer of yours #cause you are not going to let him down #finally you are happy and no one is going to screw this up #you will walk down that isle and live happily ever after #you are going to be mrs richard castle #and nothing will stop you #nothing ever
Babe: Noun. Informal. An affectionate form of address, typically for someone with whom one has a sexual or romantic relationship.
I reckon she started calling him “babe” in her head long before she ever verbalised it.
We’re all just carefully avoiding the first time it was used in a relationship on the series, right? Cool…I’ll just keep my mouth shut on that then…
It was He Who Shall Remain in the Amazon, right? If I’m recalling correctly?
Was it? I know he did the kissing Beckett on top of her head thing a few times, but I don’t remember him calling her babe. (I do remember now that I have some Josh related asks in my draft folder. Have to dig those out later.)
Yeah I can’t remember it either. Josh doesn’t have many appearances and I just checked his two biggest ones (end of ‘Punked’ and ‘Countdown’) and it wasn’t there.
“The important thing to remember is that Beckett is a detective, so she can’t wear things that will identify her, she can’t wear things like that on her hands that would distract from the conversation, that could be stolen, that could possibly hinder her when she’s shooting or hand-fighting.The ring “is something that Beckett’s very protective of, because she loves it, so on occasion, if it’s like a big event or maybe a private moment outside of being in bed, she can wear it. But having it on display at the work place is not appropriate, especially as a detective.” (x)
